PEG-MGF 2mg
PEGylated Mechano Growth Factor
CAS: 1415176-25-6
PEG-MGF is a PEGylated analog of Mechano Growth Factor (MGF), an IGF-1 splice variant produced in response to mechanical loading. PEGylation extends half-life from minutes to days, enabling sustained muscle satellite cell activation and anti-apoptotic signaling without mechanical stimulus.
Specifications
For laboratory research use only. Not for human consumption.
Mechanism of Action
MGF C-terminal peptide activates muscle satellite cells and prevents myocyte apoptosis. PEGylation (polyethylene glycol attachment) dramatically extends circulating half-life, allowing systemic distribution and prolonged receptor engagement versus the locally-active native MGF.
Research FAQ
Why PEGylate MGF?
Native MGF has a ~2-minute half-life in circulation, limiting it to localized effects at sites of mechanical stress. PEGylation extends half-life to several days, enabling systemic satellite cell activation independent of exercise.
